Karachi: Lahore Qalandars have appointed pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi as the vice-captain for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.
The 20-year-old Shaheen has been with the Qalandars since the third edition of the PSL and has emerged as the core member of the franchise.
Aaqib Javed, LQ’s director of Cricket said that Shaheen Shah Afridi is face of Lahore Qalandars. His dedication towards Qalandars’ mindset is remarkable.

Chennai: India captain Virat Kohli said Tuesday his side showed more “grit” and “determination” to thrash England in the second Test, playing down complaints about the difficult pitch.
With local hero Ravichandran Ashwin claiming eight wickets in the match and scoring 106 in the second innings, India completed a 317-run victory inside four days in Chennai.
Left-arm spinner Axar Patel claimed a five-wicket haul on his Test debut as England were out for 164 while chasing an unlikely 482 on day four.
Some said the Chennai pitch, which crumbled from nearly the first day, was not fit for a Test.
But England made no public complaint and Kohli rejected the criticism and said his side played a “perfect game”.
“I think our application with the bat was outstanding,” said the India captain.
“The conditions were challenging for both sides but we showed more application and grit and determination to battle it out.
“We didn’t panic out there looking at the hard turn and bounce on that pitch.”
Kohli highlighted that India scored 600 runs over two innings despite the conditions, and winning the toss made no difference.
“So if you put up that kind of batting performance and you string in those important batting partnerships then we know that our bowlers are going to do the job.”
England ‘outplayed
England captain Joe Root conceded that his side were “outplayed in all three departments this week” and had to learn quickly before the third Test in Ahmedabad.
But he added: “I would say it was a challenging wicket. I do think that it was an important toss to win.”
England, he said, now have to be “honest” and learn quickly to adapt to conditions in India.
England, struggling since the opening day, kept losing wickets after resuming on 53-3 on day four.
Root departed for 33 soon after lunch, falling to Patel.
Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav joined in to finish off the innings, taking Moeen Ali after he smashed 43 off 18 balls.
The last wicket partnership of 38 between Ali and Stuart Broad, unbeaten on five, was England’s highest of the match.
England, who have been resting and rotating players, said Ali would be returning home after the Test.
Ali had coronavirus in Sri Lanka but recovered to take a total of eight wickets in the second Test against India.
Ashwin’s five wickets to help bowl out England for 134 in the first innings in response to India’s 329 set the tone for the host’s dominance.
England conceded a lead of 195 and then struggled on a pitch that offered turn from day one.
“This wicket was very different to the one we played on in the first game,” Ashwin conceded, but he added that the wickets had not fallen from the balls he expected.
“It was the mind of the batsmen that got us wickets.”
Opener Rohit Sharma hit an attacking 161 to set up India’s big innings after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
Sharma’s seventh Test century and his first against England raised the pitch of the returning Indian crowd — present in a stadium for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic.
Kohli made 62 in the second innings, putting on a key 96-run seventh-wicket partnership with Ashwin on day three.
Both sides need to win the series to take the second place in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand later this year.
The third Test — a day-night match — will begin in Ahmedabad on February 24.
Authorities have not said if fans will be allowed into the world’s biggest cricket stadium — with a 100,000-plus capacity — for the game.

Hey guys I’m kinda new to poker so I’m still learning a lot every day. The wsop app made it easy to practice so I had fun. The first couple days I had the app, every night I was on a tear, I was getting power hand after powerhand. Straights to flushes and even once a straight flush. I still haven’t gotten a four of a kind or higher yet. My thing is after a few days I started to have a much harder time, I would have a straight after flop and get beaten by a flush from off the river. I understand with time and experience I can better read and predict that flush but after the last two days I’ve started to enjoy the app less and less. It was fun when everyone at the table had similar money, now even when I’m on lower tables it’s just filthy rich players who reraise almost anything starting from the flop all the way to the river. Sure poker is about bullying your opponents at times but it gets ridiculous when people have to fold pre flop even with solid high hards in fear I won’t even make a pair, just to find out I would’ve had a monster had I waited. Maybe I need to practice more or watch more videos to get the fundamentals (any recommendations would be appreciated). But the last two days have been the biggest beats I’ve ever had and it’s discouraging me from continuing to use the app. Sure the game is about skill and luck but it starts to piss me off when over the past two days I’ve gotten beaten on every power hand. I have a bicycle? Someone has high end straight or flush draw. Have 3 of a kind? Someone has four. Even when I had a fullhouse I would get beat. Maybe I need to watch a video on being able to better decipher the board to know when I have the nuts but I can’t find any handy videos. I know it sounds like a whole lotta complaining but it isn’t like it was multiple people beating me, it’s always the filthy rich player who just happens to get lucky off a river or flip card. And said person will continue to get hand after hand bullying the whole table. Sure it’s a online app it can’t be perfect randomization but at what point does this app become ludicrous? Like really what are the chances the same player will have the best high card or a straight flush or higher 6/10 hands or greater? Hell even when I’ve played my best I thought it was suspect, I was getting hand after hand of amazing sets but now it’s almost like I never win unless someone bluffed and I saw it or I use strategy to get others to think I have the better card. That being said I have made bad calls so not all of my loses can’t be deflected but someone of them feel almost rigged as if the game is favoring certain players on the table. I typically play smart and only make small calls and fold on high bets if I don’t have a solid set or at least a potential flush or straight going for me. Hell I’ve even noticed I play better in tournaments where people play a little bit more realistic And I’m more cautious of the sets I bet on but when it comes to outside of the tournament it seems like this game is just a troll, like it wants to piss me off on purpose. Maybe other users of the app have experienced more fair game play but for the past two days I’ve gotten bullied and it only makes me more mad when the rich guy bluffed and I would’ve had a 3 of a kind or four of a kind but I decided to not go all in on some random cards with no flush or straight potential, such as a 2 and a 9 off suite or pocket 3s. Feel free to roast me if I’m sounding stupid, but from my perspective this app is ridiculous at times.
